Do you know what happens when lobbyist and other very political people get together for a wedding? One of the funniest and most enjoyable weddings ever!! (it sounded like a really bad joke, but wasn’t one)
Kate + Steve’s wedding day was definitely a truly memorable one. It rained all day long and not a single person let it dampen their spirits one little bit. Through having a venue with a beautiful interior and the magic of umbrellas (and towels), we were able to get some gorgeous images for these two throughout their entire day.
As I mentioned in their sneak peek, not only were Kate + Steve wonderful to work with, but their wedding party was an absolute blast! From the moment Dave and I met up with them right up until the end of our coverage, we had such a great time with everyone. This amazing group of people knew how to have a great time and weren’t going to let rain, or a few wardrobe malfunctions, get in the way. I mean, you know you are working with fun people when as you follow the group out after the recessional, you turn around to find two of the bridesmen already have wine in their hands, 10 seconds after the ceremony was done (they had a game plan and priorities and I loved it)!
But honestly this day wouldn’t have been nearly as wonderful if it hadn’t been for the couple themselves. Throughout the entire evening everyone mentioned how amazing these two are and I have to agree. We get to work with some really fantastic people in our line of work, but these two were definitely some of my favourites from this past season. They were so easy-going and not afraid to get a little wet from the rain in order to get some beautiful photos (seriously, the trees around Temple’s Sugar Bush were unbelievable in their rain saturated state).
To (partially) quote one of the many amazing speeches that were given during Kate + Steve’s wedding day (honestly, you want to hear great speeches, go to a wedding where the people literally write them for a living), some say opposite attract, but those people are full of shit, because these two go together like peas and carrots. And honestly, it is true. Even from our shorter time with them it was clear to see that they have so many overlapping qualities. Both kind and down-to-earth, and clearly so in love with one another. It was such a joy, and a real honour, to be able to capture their wedding day.
A huge thank you to all the amazing vendors who helped make this wedding so beautiful and memorable:
