Ah the Tulip Festival. You all know how much I love it (and I know how much a certain one of you hates it). It is my favourite Ottawa Festival and it is finally here. The above image was taken earlier today at the Dows Lake Pavilion location. Dave and I toured the tulip beds for a couple of hours, had some yummy food and then went home. The tulips are a little late this year (as are the ones in my backyard) so there were a great deal of un-bloomed flowers around and empty looking flower beds, but all in all it was still very pretty and I thoroughly enjoyed the nice walk and photography-filled afternoon.
Wonderfully pink tulips at Commissioners Park.
I love the Tulip Festival!
It is interesting how the tulips come up a little different each year despite the fact that I don’t replant any of them. This tulip couple wasn’t around last year, which leads me to believe that I will be able to get a whole new set of photographs from the same garden. This obviously makes me very happy.
One of the first images from my garden this season. It isn’t a very diverse garden, in fact it consists of only tulips in two beds – but they do come in a large variety of colours.
This guys was truly determined to get through the earth (and snow) – so much so that he pushed right through this little stick that was on the ground (presumably originally stuck there with ice and/or snow).
