Ornamental Gardens Engagement Session: Casandra + Alex

The Ornamental Gardens are quickly becoming one of my absolute favourite portrait locations in the city! The Arboretum across the way is lovely of course, and I enjoy shooting there too (especially now that the Fall colours are starting to pop up everywhere) but there is just something about the gardens that take it to the next level – and honestly I think it’s those greenhouses just down the street!

I have been lucky enough to capture several sessions there, and was so happy to get to shoot another one there with Casandra + Alex. I had such a lovely afternoon with them strolling around the gardens and to make things even more wonderful than they already were, these two absolutely killed it when it came to their photos!!

I really did have a great time hanging out with Casandra + Alex during their engagement session. And honestly, I think a lot of that comes from the fact that we have a past-time in common – video games! Although for them it is not only a past-time but also a career (lucky ducks). In fact, their session was scheduled just in time as they were days away from moving out of Ottawa for new work opportunities – super exciting!

We tell all of our clients that it is so important to click with your wedding day vendors on some level. That can be anything from a shared past-time/hobby, a common outlook on weddings or life in general, or just enjoying each other’s company. So I am so happy that we were able to find that with Cas + Alex and I am so looking forward to working with them again on their wedding day!
