Erica listed a few different spots they wanted to go to for photos: Foley Mountain, Spy Rock, and Camp IAWAH. Not even the name of the camp was jogging my memory. It wasn’t until I was standing on the porch of one of the buildings, waiting for Erica + Ryan to switch outfits that I looked across the field and saw the big bell, that I started to remember those camp days. I thought, ‘oh they have a bell too…wait a minute…’, that is when I figured it out, after Googling the location at least a dozen times, writing the name in emails multiple time and about an hour an a half into the session.
It didn’t matter that I didn’t remember the place, it is really just a funny moment I had during the session. But to be honest, there were so many great moments with these two. From the very start of their shoot, these two were just nailing every shot. And even when it rained (and by rained I mean absolutely poured) these two looked like freaking rock stars!! Thankfully we were able to take advantage of their unbelievable skills in front of our lenses by running into the local ice cream shop so we didn’t have to stop shooting.
We met Erica + Ryan at the Perth Wedding Show and boy oh boy, am I ever glad we did!! That was Sunday, and by the next Saturday we were driving out to Westport to meet up with these two for their engagement session. We may have encouraged my brother and sister-in-law push a few key moments of our niece’s birthday party forward so we wouldn’t miss them before heading out for the shoot, but I think even they would agree that this session was oh so worth it!
I seriously cannot wait until Erica + Ryan’s wedding day because I just know it is going to be just gorgeous! Thankfully it is our first 2016 wedding, so I don’t have to wait too long.
