Toronto Island Wedding: Chris + Jason, Sneak Peek

toronto-island-wedding-stephanie-beach-photography-02What do you say when your best friend gets married? I have written and re-written this sneak peek post a dozen times now and nothing ever seems to be enough to describe how immensely overjoyed I was this past weekend as I watched one of the very best people I know marry someone she loves so much, and who loves her just as much in return.

So I suppose I will leave the sappy stuff for their full preview to give myself a bit more time to write it up and instead let this post be a bit more technical in its subject matter.

Chris + Jason’s wedding ‘day’ was definitely unique. It was officially spread over two days, although for us it was more like three as we spent a few hours with the newlyweds on Sunday before we got on the road to head home. On their first wedding day, Chris + Jason attended a civil ceremony at Toronto City Hall. Their family and friends crammed into the relatively tiny marriage hall and watched their simple, but moving, legal marriage.

But this day is not the one that will act as their anniversary because for them, the non-legal marriage that happened on day 2 of their wedding weekend was the one that made it truly official.

In front of all of their family and friends, with their siblings as their officiants and the gorgeous Toronto skyline in the background, Chris and Jason had a laid back, DIY wedding that will be nearly impossible for any of their guests to forget. On the way down to the island we snapped a few shots around downtown Toronto and I further learned just how much Jason knows and loves Chris (more on this later on too).

Their day was full of so much meaning and love, and I am so excited to finish up their photos and share them with everyone.
