Temple’s Sugar Bush Wedding: Devin + Bradley

Temple's-Sugar-Bush-Wedding-Stephanie-Beach-PhotographySometimes I struggle with what to write about in these blog posts. It can often be hard to think of things to say that I haven’t already included in a post, or where to draw the line in terms of what stays personal and what goes public. But for Devin + Brad, the hard part about this post is figuring out where to start as there were just so many amazing moments (and photos) throughout their entire wedding day!

Infinity Convention Centre Wedding: Chantal + Mathieu

Hogs-Back-Park-Wedding-Stephanie-Beach-Photography-bride-groom-portrait-riverThere were just so many reasons as to why I was looking so forward to Chantal + Mathieu’s wedding day. The fact that it was a Fall wedding was definitely a good reason to look forward to this one (I love Fall weddings so much!) and of course, because they had opted for a first look which are always so special and touching. I was excited for the overall aesthetic they had planned for their day, and super pumped about getting to work in a brand new venue!! But really, after spending the day with them during their engagement session (and chatting with them during our meetings), I was really just looking forward to getting to hang out with them again since they are both just so awesome!

Ottawa Library + Table 40 Restaurant Wedding: Sabrina + Jeff

Brookstreet-Hotel-Wedding-Preparation-Stephanie-Beach-Photography-details-love

We have been very fortunate to photograph wedding days in some of this city’s best venues. And as much as I absolutely love working with at all of those gorgeous places (and with all of our regular industry peeps), I also really look forward to getting to capture wedding days in atypical locations too. It adds a bit of variety to our season and allows us to incorporate things that really have meaning to our couples (as these atypical venues tend to be chosen for very specific reasons).

Sabrina + Jeff’s wedding ceremony choice of the Beaverbrook Ottawa Public Library out in Kanata was definitely not your regular wedding venue – but I honestly can’t think of a spot that would have been better suited for these two amazing people!

Strathmere Lodge Wedding: Kristen + Chris

Strathmere-Lodge-Wedding-Stephanie-Beach-Photography-reception-decor-centrepieceWhenever Dave and I have to write something sentimental as a couple it always goes the same way: I write down some general ideas in jot note form and then Dave improves on it. I get down the main points I think we should get across and any critical details that have to be included. I normally take a pass at writing a few sentences, maybe even an entire paragraph, but once that is done Dave takes all of my thoughts, adds his own and then turns it into an actual written (or spoken) piece and it ends up being beautiful. There are normally some changes on my end, particularly if it is supposed to sound like me and not him, but he is definitely the one that makes it actually sound great. You see, although I can write pretty well (or at least well enough), Dave can write beautifully from the heart. He has a way with that sort of thing whereas I can sometimes struggle with getting my point across.

I mention this because at multiple points during Kristen + Chris’ wedding day I was reminded of Dave’s heart-spoken nature as Chris had the same abilities. When he spoke about his family and of course his new bride, every word was said with intention and his words were so incredibly meaningful and completely heartwarming.

Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm Wedding: Krystal + Luke

Stanleys-Olde-Maple-Lane-Farm-Wedding-Stephanie-Beach-Photography-ceremony-stone-steps-guestsWe are so lucky to photograph so many beautiful wedding days. In fact, there are so many lovely days that picking highlights from our season can be tricky, but I just know that images from Krystal +Luke’s day will be included in my favourites for 2017!!

The light was perfect, the grounds of Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm (and both prep locations too!) were wonderful and their entire wedding party were genuine knockouts! And Krystal in that dress, well there simply aren’t words for how amazing she looked, but I think flawless is a pretty good start.
