Intimate Wedding at Rockcliffe Park Pavilion: Brook + Kyle

Another beautiful wedding and another gorgeous sun-filled day. Oh wait, that’s not how 2021 has gone at all!

It may not have been great for the weather, again, but in tried and true fashion, the couple made the most of it and didn’t let the rain get them down for one instant. Brook + Kyle took the entire day in stride and the fact that her dress was wet before they left the parking lot didn’t seem to bother Brook as she really was focused on the most important part of the day – marrying her lovely groom!

I know that is the point of every wedding day, but sometimes the weather or another unavoidable downturn can really distract from that. I do my best to remind couples that all that really matter is that at the end of the day they are married and everything that happens on top of that is really just icing on the cake. And luckily, I get to work with the best couples ever as the majority of them don’t even need reminding of that as they are saying something to that effect even before I get around to it.

And of course, it always helps when you are getting married in such a lovely space so perfectly decorated by the wonderful Denisa. The Pavilion inside Rockcliffe Park really is one of my new favourite places. I mean, it has such a great mix of settings to be able to use. From the obvious pavilion itself with that great architecture, to the pine tree filled laneway, big field and lovely deciduous trees, to the waterfront view, it really is quite diverse for such a small area. And, the added bonus of the poor weather was the fact that there were almost no other tourists/park goers to be found. Mind you, we did happen to find the one tourist who wanted a photo with the couple still. It’s weird but this keeps happening at this location. I have literally never had this happen anywhere else (other than the downtown market), and yet it continuously happens here.

I had such a lovely afternoon with this adorable couple, their wonderful family, and of course, their snap happy friends who made sure the couple had a ride to the reception afterwards, haha!

Thanks to all of these amazing vendors who helped make this wedding possible!
