I was so ecstatic that not only was our very first newborn in the studio super adorable, but her parents also happen to be a previous wedding couple of ours! It was so great getting to catch up with Jenna + Tim (even though there was no puppy Archer visit during this session as there was on their wedding day) and it was even better to be able to meet little Ellie for the first time!
When I first sat down to write this blog post, I thought I might have a hard time figuring out what to write about. I have worked with this amazing family so many times now, I thought I must have said all there is to say! But luckily, they are so awesome that each and every time I get to hang out with them I learn a bit more about them. And better than that, I get to see their girls’ personalities develop and shine and it really is so truly awesome to witness!
It’s a pretty simple fact that the best sessions include the best people – and this session included Antonietta + Matt, who, if you haven’t had the pleasure of getting to know them or read through any of the previous posts from their sessions, truly are two of the very best people ever!! But you know what took this session from best to bestest ever status: Matt + T made a tiny little human and she is just about the most perfect little thing that has ever existed!
The drive out to their new home was definitely a long one, in fact, it was the longest I have driven for a newborn session (to date at least), but it gave me a lot of time to think. And although I spent an equal sized portion of the drive singing along to some great songs, I also ended up reminiscing about all the wonderful sessions I have been lucky enough to capture for Chantal + Mathieu. During their engagement session and then their wedding I quickly learned just how amazingly kind these two people are. And getting to meet the new tiny person they created was definitely a highlight of my Fall season!
Picking out a name for your child seems so intimidating to me. I mean, this is what you kid will be called for the rest of their lives (assuming they don’t absolutely hate it and end up changing it when they are legally able to). The name they will hear, sign and say again and again as they go through their daily routines. It is even the name others kids with manipulate to be able to make fun of them (and you can never think of all the things other kids may come up with to try to protect your child). So the idea of picking out a good one really does seem just so incredibly daunting to me.
But Marie-France + Robert thought of not only a beautiful name for their little one, but they found one that was based on a wonderful fictional character that will be a great role model for their girl as she grows up.
