Ottawa Studio Newborn Session: Iris

You just might recognize this sweet little face from my Instagram feed as I have been using her photos for a little while. I even made a reel from some of the behind the scenes footage of her session. But it is only because she is just so darn cute and her session was so good!

Of course it doesn’t hurt that my favourite setup of hers also happens to be one of the first setups that I used for my own baby girl’s newborn photos. I created the cream and gold polka dot (which I called Champagne Bubbles) outfit and background for Charlotte and it happened to be her very first set of newborn photos. And I love that since then I have been able to use it for other adorable babies who have come to see me in the studio. And when Iris’ mom asked for cream and neutral as part of her daughter’s session, I instantly thought of this look.

Now Iris’ photos may not show it, but she did put up a bit of a fight at the start of her session. We had to do a few extra cuddles and feeding time to be able to get her truly ready for her photos (plus a quick little wrap and some time to wiggle about for a bit), but in the end, she did wonderfully. She absolutely nailed her photos! And that wrap I mentioned, made for some extra parent photos, and lead to a half wrap photo that I am head over heels in love with!! So in the end, it all worked out perfectly, if I do say so myself.

Beach Baby Prop Shoppe items in use throughout the session.
