We aren’t golfers. And by that I mean, I have literally never golfed at all. I think I swung my brother’s golf club in the backyard once … maybe. I’m not even 100% certain about that fact if I’m being honest. All of that to say, every time we hit up a golf course for a wedding Dave + I have relearn how to drive the carts as we swoosh around different spots for photos. Dave did all the driving for Courtney + Scott’s wedding day because I was having way too much fun watching Courtney hold onto the back of her cart! You see, there was simply too much dress for her to sit inside it – I suppose that is the one downside to a big poufy wedding dress, but I mean, she looked so darn stunning in it, I think it was worth it!

Perth Stewart Park Wedding: Tori + Jarred
I remember falling in love with this park the very first time I visited it. I instantly thought it would be so lovely to have a wedding in Stewart Park, and now many years later, we have captured multiple weddings and/or wedding day portraits (in addition to engagement and family sessions) and yet, I am just as much in love with the area as I was on the first visit.
So when Tori + Jarred changed up their wedding day plans and decided to have their entire day in the park I was 100% on board!

There are fun weddings, and then there are FUN weddings, and Alexandra + Ryan definitely had the latter!! I was laughing and just genuinely having a blast from the second the girls showed up for bridal prep until the last few minutes we spent with the couple covering their reception and night photos. Alex, Ryan and there entire group of family and friends definitely knew how to have a good time!!

If I’m being honest, I wasn’t feeling great heading to Julie + Shenfield’s wedding (don’t worry it wasn’t anything I could pass along). So much so in fact, that I brought Dave along even though he wasn’t booked for the wedding coverage. He came as backup to help carry my gear and in case I couldn’t shoot to my normal quality. Fortunately he wasn’t needed for anything other than being a pack mule, but I of course took advantage of him being there when it came to veil tosses, multi-tasking shots, and those wonderful candid images. I mean, why wouldn’t I, he was there and he is so darn good at it!

Do you remember near the start of the summer when the forecast was calling for rain literally every afternoon? As the day passed the forecast would push the rain further another hour again and again until eventually it would just push it to the next day’s forecast. As a photographer, this was incredibly annoying! Not only were couple’s unsure as to whether or not we would need to postpone their engagement or family session, but no one had any clue what wedding days were going to be in terms of the weather. And this of course meant I had to pack and carry around way more equipment than I really needed to. Very annoying.
Although to be honest, it was always a plus when that rain was pushed to the next day because it meant our couples got a beautiful, albeit very hot and humid, wedding day instead of one that needed towels and umbrellas. This was the case for Maritza + Ismael, who persevered through the muggy weather like champs and definitely made the most of not on the weather, but also the gorgeous location they had chosen!
