Oh my goodness, how could I have possibly forgotten to post this wonderful session with Henry and is awesome parents, Emma + Scott?! I knew I had issued it to them before hitting publish on this post as I was just so swamped with editing that I didn’t have time to wrap up blogging at the time (and of course didn’t want them to have to wait while I got my writing inspiration), but I didn’t realize just how long it had been since I actually finished this up. Well, long story short, I am (finally) sharing this wonderful lifestyle session and that is what really matters … right?!Continue reading “Ottawa Ornamental Gardens Lifestyle Family Session: Henry”
Do you remember near the start of the summer when the forecast was calling for rain literally every afternoon? As the day passed the forecast would push the rain further another hour again and again until eventually it would just push it to the next day’s forecast. As a photographer, this was incredibly annoying! Not only were couple’s unsure as to whether or not we would need to postpone their engagement or family session, but no one had any clue what wedding days were going to be in terms of the weather. And this of course meant I had to pack and carry around way more equipment than I really needed to. Very annoying.
Although to be honest, it was always a plus when that rain was pushed to the next day because it meant our couples got a beautiful, albeit very hot and humid, wedding day instead of one that needed towels and umbrellas. This was the case for Maritza + Ismael, who persevered through the muggy weather like champs and definitely made the most of not on the weather, but also the gorgeous location they had chosen!Continue reading “Rockcliffe Pavilion Wedding: Maritza + Ismael”
I’m going to be completely honest here, I was so freaking nervous leading up to this family session. Not because I thought they would do poorly, or because I couldn’t think of interactions for them to do during their session. No, I was nervous because I know this family and I know just how shy and quiet Little Kane can be, and I was so worried that I wouldn’t be able to get a single smile out of him during the shoot. But I am oh so very happy to report that the entire family was full of smiles and giggles all session long!!Continue reading “Ottawa Ornamental Gardens Lifestyle Family Session: The Nuttalls”
In getting this post together I had to go look up the most recent wedding featured here to remember how to title this one, etc., and you know what I realized? It has been 6 months since our last wedding!! SIX MONTHS!! That’s absolutely crazy to me! If I had to guess, I would have likely guessed 4 months at the most, but I obviously would have been wrong about that. But as much as this pandemic and the forced changes on weddings and events has affected me and other vendors, it has affected all of our couples too. So many people have had to drastically change their wedding day plans and it’s not an easy situation to be in. Nearly every couple we have and are working with is doing things slightly differently, including Allison + MattContinue reading “Ottawa Surprise Elopement: Allison + Matt”
Yep so I definitely have favourite spots around the city and am drawn to them again and again. And even if I use the exact same locations in these spots, each couple makes it their own and I have a completely different experience (albeit I am lucky that they have always been super positive experiences so far as I get to work with the greatest clients ever!!!). Courtney + Scott were not only great to walk around this wonderful little trail with, but they are just so darn cute! I loved all of their genuine laughs and cuddles!
