Delia + Shawn’s wedding day was absolute perfection! It was a gorgeous sun-filled day and of course these two were just so freaking adorable the entire day. It was an utter joy to be able to capture their wedding day for them and so much fun to get to hang out with them and their hilarious group of friends & family.
The Nature Museum has to be one of my favourite downtown venues! The Queen’s Lantern in particular is absolutely stunning! It has this great mixture of classic architecture, through the stone and stained glass elements, and modern, with the glass and marble railings. And of courses those stairs are epic! The light is chef’s kiss anytime of the day but I think Delia + Shawn got the best during the last few sunlit hours of the day. And of course the night photos you can do in there! I absolutely love grabbing the couple as I am heading out for the night and squeezing in a few night photos before I leave.
Now, if you know me, you already know that I am not a fan of receiving lines. I could go on and on about why I try to sway couples away from them if I feel like they are on the fence, but I won’t go into that here. So when Delia + Shawn mentioned on the day that they wanted to have one set up, I was of course helpful, but not overjoyed. Thankfully though, their receiving line was quick and efficient! Guests lined up quickly and moved through at a good pace too. There were no relatives that stuck around chatting too long. Perhaps it was just because it was in their nature, or perhaps it was because they wanted hors d’oeuvres and to look at the fossils, haha!
And can I just say, I love working with a professional wedding planner/coordinator! Jasmine of Crimson and Ivy Wedding Co was the literal definition of a pro. Not only was she polite and friendly to all the guests, but she was so much fun to hang out with in the minuscule bits of downtime and coordinating time we had together. And better than all of that, when the girls got behind schedule and we ended up with 30 minutes to do all the wedding photos ahead of the ceremony, she went out of her way to help me (and of course the couple) in any way she could.
Thanks to all of these amazing vendors who helped make this wedding possible!
