I’m throwing it way back with this blog post as Mariam and Ramy’s maternity session was photographed all the way back in 2021. It is one of the few blog posts that I have in my backlog that aren’t there because of our own pregnancy (and then the craziness that happens in those first couple years). Mariam and Ramy had asked that I not post their maternity photos until after their little one had arrived, but since I have photographed his newborn and first year photos and he is even bigger than that now, I think I could knock this one off my ‘to blog’ list safely now.
So it took me a couple minutes to bring this session up in my memory. You see, I tend to keep little notes about the session so I can write about it later, but this was photographed before I started that system for family sessions, so I had to wrack my brain to remember all the little details. One thing I can tell you with certainty is that it was cold. Like really cold. But these two were troopers and didn’t let that stop them from making the most of this gorgeous location.
But honestly, that worked in our favour as it meant there really weren’t any people around. It had also snowed recently which was awesome because Mariam had asked for some snow-covered trees in the photos and it was awesome to be able to deliver that for her. I am always a little nervous when people ask for things like that, because despite how much I would like to, I can’t control the weather.
But it all worked out in the end. We bore the cold temperatures and got some great snow dappled foliage in the photos, but better than all of that, we got some memories captured of this adorable couple as they grew their little family.
