I love a small wedding. The kind where you can literally name every guest on your hands (maybe yours and your future spouse’s). They make for such intimate and heart-warming affairs and are often full of some of the most personal of touches.

Chateau Laurier Wedding: Jennifer + Dan, Sneak Peek
So often I ramble on about how I am from a small town and as a result have been honoured enough to photograph the weddings of people I grew up with. Seeing as Dave moved further away from his hometown, and given the fact that it was a fair bit larger than mine (there happens to be a university in his hometown), it was a pretty neat experience to be able to cover the wedding of someone he grew up with.

Downtown Ottawa Winter Engagement Session: Alexandra + Rico
Christmas time is one of my favourite times of the year. I love getting together with family and friends, sharing delicious food and watching loved ones open the gifts we found for them. Just enjoying the company of loved ones really. That being said, I don’t like the crowds, the endless shopping and the stress that those things bring. But this year I realized that the endless shopping can be a very good thing for getting some engagement photos done with almost no spectators in a normally very busy area!!

Downtown Ottawa Winter Engagement Session: Alexandra + Rico, Sneak Peek
We shot Alexandra + Rico’s engagement session in and around Major’s Hill Park and Nepean Point. They wanted to capture the beauty that is our downtown core in the winter season and boy oh boy did we have a gorgeous day for it! The sky was blue and the sun was bright, which, if you are a resident of Ottawa you know means it was freaking cold in the shade, but toasty warm in the sun. These two were super fun and cheery and even managed to stay that way even when we were waiting for the sun to set.
