A little while back I was able to share a sneak peek at Uithyaa’s Sweet 16 party. I was asked to cover the event by a fellow photographer, Smiles Photography.
The party was fantastic, Uithyaa was surrounded by friends and family and they shared an amazing meal and some super fun party games.
We had the chance to do some portraits before the party started, here are a few shots of the beautiful birthday girl (and a couple bonus photos of the delicious desserts).

Family Portaits at Keg Manor and Maplelawn Gardens
I recently posted a sneak peak of a family session I was asked to shoot at the Maplelawn Gardens outside of the Keg Manor. Below are a few more shots from their shoot.
Not too sound to corny, but I had a great time at this session. The family was great (and pretty entertaining), the weather was gorgeous (not too hot or too cold) and as an added bonus, I found a new garden to shoot (once things start blooming)!

These two kids were so well behaved. I had mentioned in my sneak peak post that their parents were very smart and brought some suckers for them as a reward (aka bribe) for being good during the session, but either way, they did really well!! Doesn’t hurt that they are freaking adorable!

The next three photos are probably my favourites as they show three generations of siblings. To be honest, I hadn’t realized we had done this until I was editing away a few nights ago, but I think it is really neat to be able to capture this.

Okay, so the youngest generation is flipping rocks trying to find bugs and worms, but that’s pretty great too!
DST Spring Clean Up in Billings Bridge Plaza Park
Last Friday DST Consulting Engineers helped out the City of Ottawa by participating in the Spring Clean Up program. This is the second year I have shot the event for DST and fortunately they had significantly better weather – it was gorgeous out!! DST worked at the park across from Billings Bridge plaza.
The group saw these employees from Caltrio Company Ltd. who were cleaning up brush and leaves leftover from the snowy months. They were hard at work, and doing a fantastic job, but they paused for a minute to pose for a quick photo with DST. Thanks guys!

Most of the garbage in this location can be found along the water’s edge, which makes the day even better as the view is beautiful too.

A few of the DST employees got right in the thick of the brush and helped the trees get freed from some super invasive garbage.

At the end of the day the group found a great tree and stopped to take a short, well deserved rest and take in the beautiful scenery.
Family Portraiture at Maplelawn Gardens and Keg Manor
Yesterday I had the privilege of joining the Harrigan clan (so technically they weren’t all Harrigans, but you get the point) as they celebrated at the Maplelawn Gardens and Keg Manor. We took some family photos before they enjoyed their dinner at the Keg (I am going to assume it was delicious because the Keg pretty much always is). Below is a little sneak peek.
Normally, I only post one photo for my sneak peeks, but I couldn’t resist the below photos (particularly the one on the right).
The parents of these little guys came equipped with bribes to keep them in good spirits for the photos (super smart!!). When asked if he liked his sucker (aka candy bribe), this little charmer winked and gave us all the thumbs up – it was pretty awesome. He spent the rest of the session turning over rocks, looking for worms and bugs.
Event Photography: DST Christmas Party 2012 at the National Arts Centre
So I was reviewing my client posts from 2012 and realized I missed posting some. I had the pleasure of covering DST’s Christmas Party for the third year (check out the previous years here and here). They once again had their festivities at the National Arts Centre, a fabulous venue.
These people really know how to party!! Party games, fancy clothes, dancing, karaoke and of course – Gangnam style!
