I often go driving around the city looking for interesting spots for sessions (there are so many random spots marked on my phone’s map for future reference). And it was about two years ago or so that I found some really cool forested areas out in Kanata. I have suggested them to a few couples as possible spots for their engagement session, but for various reasons (mostly having to do with the season), they didn’t get selected, until now that is. And although I absolutely love this park/trail/forest with its super cute bridge, adorable paths and great light, I think Chantalle + Sebastien could have made literally any spot look like a million bucks!

I love it when couples bring along two different outfits to their engagement session: one more casual and relaxed; and the other more formal and dressed up. It allows us to essentially get two different batches of photos in one session. So when Carla + Jean-Francois asked if they could switch outfits partway through their session, I was all for it!

Sometimes I arrive at the bride’s prep and there are girls running about everywhere as they get ready, and other times it is super chill and relaxed. Marie-France’s prep was definitely one of the latter and it made to such a lovely start to an even more lovely wedding day.
I was sick, the wind was bitter cold, and by the end of their portrait session, the bottom third of my pants were completely soaked from the snow; and every minute of it was oh so fabulous and one that I wouldn’t miss for the world!
