Indian Shores Seacoast Sea Bird Sanctuary

As the name implies, we also visited a sea bird sanctuary. They had a great deal of pelicans there as well as tother sea birds native to the Florida area.

We also got a chance to walk along the beach shores and saw some wild birds as well.

Clearwater Aquarium

We took a trip to the Clearwater Aquarium to visit Winter, the famous Dolphin.

To be honest, she wasn’t doing much other than bobbing up and down in her tank, but that was because she only wears her prosthetic tail a couple of hours a day. there were lots of other animals there though, sea turtles, otters, other dolphins, even a couple nurse sharks. It was very entertaining and I love that they release as many of the animals as possible once they are back to full health.

Chubby Manatee

Dave and I recently got home from our Florida vacation. I will be posting more photos from our travels throughout the next little bit (aka – stay tuned!).
Manatees are so odd looking. When they are sitting in the water, one could easily mistake them for rocks, as I initially did. But then you look at them and realize they are so kind and peaceful looking.

Toronto Zoo, 2009

The Toronto Zoo is easily my favourite zoo. The animals always look so happy there and have lots of room to run around.

Ideally, all wild animals would be in the wild, but unfortunately that is not always an option. So if they must be in zoos, they should be in good zoos like this one.
