We learned last year that three weddings in one weekend is just too much for us, but although tiring, double header wedding weekends are definitely possible. But they are made so much easier and more enjoyable when the second wedding is for a couple as sweet as Jessica-Lynn + Colin.
We took the back route out to Cornwall, initially because I wasn’t in a highway mood that day, but as we drove it became all about the scenery. The drive out was so incredibly pretty and after dropping Dave off at the Colin’s prep, I headed over to Lancaster to meet up with Jessica-Lynn and her entourage. I actually enjoyed driving behind other cars as the leaves on the road created little swirls of colour behind the vehicles – it was so pretty to watch.
Growing up I had always thought of Cornwall as stinky (I use this term literally as they used to have a paper pulp plant that smelt quite awful), and I didn’t spend much time there, but going back with my camera in hand to capture this couple’s wedding day made me realize that it is such a lovely place with so many hidden gems in it and the surrounding areas! The Williamstown Fairgrounds where we did their portraits was so wonderful that I actually lost track of time (thankfully Dave had my back and kept us on schedule).
In fact, the entire day was absolutely perfect. The weather was full of clear blue skies and the delightful scent of Fall. It was chilly enough to wear a sweater and my favourite scarf but not so cold that the bride turned blue. And of course, the colours in the trees made the scenery perfection. But above all of the wonderful weather and settings, this couple made our job so effortless. As I said before, they are incredibly sweet and the love they share for one another is abundantly clear. I absolutely loved being a part of their wedding day and I can’t wait to share more from it all, but for now, I hope you all enjoy this little sneak peek of Jessica-Lynn and Colin.
