Whenever a couple interested in an engagement session books their wedding day with us, we put a little note in their file and on our calendar for the season and/or month they are interested in for their engagement shoot. That way, as things get closer we can reach out and set an actual date for the session and make sure we don’t miss the prime of the season. So right away I knew Christine + John wanted a Fall engagement session among all the beautiful foliage that we know and love.
At first when we set a date for later in October I was a little nervous, most years prior to this, the peak colours have been around Thanksgiving and the week after and I didn’t want them to miss the prettiest backgrounds by a few days, but fortunately for them Mother Nature had other plans this year.
I think we can all agree that Fall was pretty darn late this year. And any day it does feel like fall is followed by two or three that feel like summer again. It is so weird and it has been throwing a wrench in not only my wardrobe choices each day, but my sessions as well.
That indecisive weather has meant that the Fall colours didn’t really start popping up until just recently which of course meant that lots of couples who had planned for a beautiful, colour-filled Fall wedding or engagement session didn’t really get the colour-filled part of their plans.
But, luckily for Christine + John, the colours did eventually get here (although there are still green trees all over the place), and we were able to capture their session among all that Fall beauty. And these two did an absolutely amazing job with their session, if I do say so myself!!
