Oh my goodness guys – Shannon + Erin’s wedding was freaking AMAZING!! Honestly, everything about it made me so deliriously happy! And it did so in the windchill-filled, -40 degree, winter weather, it was just that good!
But in case you don’t believe me, you should definitely keep reading because this wedding day just got better and better as the day went along.
So, like pretty much any wedding industry team, Dave and I have some favourite venues throughout the area, and Jabulani Vineyard is definitely on that list! There is just something about the venue’s scenery and photo-op locations that fits our style and approach so nicely. Add in a super team of people who run everything and you really do have a great venue! But what’s even better than all of that are the the types of couples they attract – so kind and thoughtful and just plain wonderful to work with! Teresa + Stephane fit that description to a T, and it was such an honour to be able to capture their gorgeous wedding day for them.
If you have been fortunate enough to attend a wedding at Strathmere then you probably already know that it actually houses 3 separate venues: The Inn, The Garden House and the Lodge. They all have their own unique features and each tend to attract its own type of couple, but for the longest time we had only ever shot weddings at The Inn and the Lodge and that middle site was rather elusive to us as we just didn’t get any inquiries for it (let alone bookings). And as much as I like the Inn and Lodge, I was eager to have the full set, so to speak.
But of course, as the blog title would suggest, thanks to Courteney + Steve’s fantastic wedding day we now have the full set of Strathmere sites. But so much better than that, is the fact that we got to be part of a truly special wedding day, one that we will remember for years to come!
Courteney + Steve’s engagement session last year was a little on the damp side (okay, maybe a touch more than just a little). But in the end it didn’t matter one little bit because these two hit every pose I threw their way right out of the park. And honestly, their wedding day was absolutely no different whatsoever – well, with the obvious exception of the weather being absolutely gorgeous looking without even one rain cloud in sight (although it was quite hot in the direct sunlight, if I do say so myself).
I love when couples decided to infuse elements from their lives together into their wedding day. Whether it be favours that include some of their favourite things, or personalized vows that include inside jokes and stories, making your wedding day your own really sets it apart from any other wedding out there. And I absolutely adore the ways Shannon + Kevin decided to make their wedding day their own by infusing parts of their proposal story and even how they met into the main events.
