The last couple months have been absolutely stuffed with engagement and portrait sessions – and if I am being completely honest, they have been some of my absolute favourites ever!! And this isn’t even because I have gotten to stroll around some of the best locations in Ottawa, or because I am truly loving the images I have been creating, but instead it is because of the amazing people I have gotten to work with. Like Sabrina + Colin, who I feel I could have walked and chatted with for ages!!

So Dave and I spent a couple days on the rooftop of the Brookstreet Hotel having some fun with Make-A-Wish earlier this month. I’ll be sharing more about all of that (including the photos of course) a little later on this week, but for now, the part I want to share is that I of course got sunburnt. My side of the roof was in the shade for almost the entire day, and I swear I used sunscreen – but for the last 1-2 hours of the event, I was in complete sun on the roof of a very tall building.
I love it when couples bring along two different outfits to their engagement session: one more casual and relaxed; and the other more formal and dressed up. It allows us to essentially get two different batches of photos in one session. So when Carla + Jean-Francois asked if they could switch outfits partway through their session, I was all for it!

I have never been the biggest fan of downtown areas. There’s very little parking, there are people everywhere and even though everyone seems to be in a hurry, they still move at a glacial pace. And even though Ottawa has a gorgeous downtown core, I tend to only head there for sessions. But, you know what makes it sooo much better, an absolutely
