We got to spend yesterday afternoon with some super talented Ottawa wedding vendors putting together a gorgeous stylized session at Sidedoor Restaurant in downtown Ottawa.

I have mentioned before that I like to arrive early to my shoots, so when Alexandra + Rico mentioned that they wanted to do their engagement session in Downtown Ottawa in and around Major’s Hill Park and Nepean Point, I headed there an hour or so beforehand to scope it out.
Christmas time is one of my favourite times of the year. I love getting together with family and friends, sharing delicious food and watching loved ones open the gifts we found for them. Just enjoying the company of loved ones really. That being said, I don’t like the crowds, the endless shopping and the stress that those things bring. But this year I realized that the endless shopping can be a very good thing for getting some engagement photos done with almost no spectators in a normally very busy area!!

Happy First Anniversary to Caren + Jason!!
Your wedding day was so touching and I was incredibly honoured to be a part of it.
We shot Alexandra + Rico’s engagement session in and around Major’s Hill Park and Nepean Point. They wanted to capture the beauty that is our downtown core in the winter season and boy oh boy did we have a gorgeous day for it! The sky was blue and the sun was bright, which, if you are a resident of Ottawa you know means it was freaking cold in the shade, but toasty warm in the sun. These two were super fun and cheery and even managed to stay that way even when we were waiting for the sun to set.
