Most of them have been upgrades to our services that I have been working on for quite some time (like our new Wedding Registries program and Online Store), but the a few were truly a dream come true!! I can hardly believe it, but this month we were published in both online and print publications!!!

I have been working very hard on submitting weddings here and there, trying to write as well as I could (as you know this isn’t really a strength for me) and working with my past brides to come up with the best submissions, but to be honest, I didn’t really expect any of the submissions to come to fruition. But it was worth a try, and you know what they say, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. So after submitting, I just waited. I figured I wouldn’t hear much, if anything at all, but then the emails started coming in…

Starfish Fall Wedding Workshop

Starfish Fall Wedding Workshop Stephanie Beach PhotographyLast week I had the pleasure of presenting at the Fall Wedding Workshop hosted by Starfish Weddings. The event was held at Dominique Levesque Bridal Salon here in Ottawa and it was so much fun. The idea was to provide hands-on learning from professional from the wedding industry to help couples maximize all the personal touches for invitations, photography, video, entertainment, cakes, flowers, centerpieces, decor … well pretty much everything wedding!!

In Front of the Camera

Stephanie Beach Photography Ottawa Arboretum PortraitsI don’t consider myself photogenic – I never have. In addition to this, I have always had a self-esteem issue in that I really don’t have much self-esteem whatsoever. This has gotten better over the last decade or so as I have surrounded myself with a loving and supportive group of friends (not being in high school anymore was definitely a bonus to my self-esteem too). And although it is cliche, not really wanting to be in front of the camera was in fact one of the reasons I started operating the camera to begin with. It started so long ago and has continued so persistently that I struggle to find photos of myself when I write my annual updates as it is rare that I document myself in my adventures. It is something I have noticed, and am working on.

I have been very busy with client meetings this week – very happily busy.

I am so excited to work with my new brides and their future husbands and am looking forward to what is looking to be an AMAZING 2014 wedding season!!
