I don’t normally post recipes, etc. here as it doesn’t really go with the overall feel of the blog, but these were just too cute to not share!!
I made these for a Halloween party and they were devoured by everyone there!! They were so delicious!
I got the recipe from here, but in short you cream 8 ounces of cream cheese with an egg, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and 1/2 cup of butter.
Then you slowly add in 1 box of yellow cake mix. I know it sounds odd to make cookies out of cake mix, but seriously, it’s so good.
Once the dough is nicely combined, I split mine into three different batches and dyed them lime green, aqua and orange using normal food dye in different combinations.
Chill the dough until it is nice and firm. The original recipe says 30 minutes, but mine took about an hour to be ready. Once chilled, roll into balls and then dip the into icing sugar.
Bake the cookies fro 10-12 minutes a 350*F. As soon as they come out press candy eyeballs into the cookies and then let them cool on a wire rack.
Like the original poster, I got the candy eyeballs from Michaels – they weren’t cheap, but it was a little something special for these already delicious cookies.
Like I said (multiple times), they were delicious and everyone gobbled them down lickity split. I am definitely going to be making another batch of these (likely without the eyes) another time.
