When I first starting shooting portrait sessions I was nervous about doing them in anything less than ideal weather in the ideal seasons. This essentially meant that I didn’t do winter sessions. The bright white snow and tendency for harsh winds and blowing precipitation definitely set me off from the idea of shooting in winter. But that was quite some time ago, and a lot of patience and practice has certainly paid off as the winter months are now my busiest time for engagement sessions. I have even learned to really enjoy these sessions and the weather challenges they can sometimes bring. But the weather was really kind to Brittany + Aaron’s session as it was on the warmer side, well for winter in our area in February.
I mentioned it in their sneak peek, but Brittany and Aaron are seriously cute and super nice. The two of them made my session so incredibly easy. They were so relaxed with each other the entire time and whenever I let them sit into a pose, they laughed and just had fun with each other, it was adorable.
I met Brittany at a bridal show near my hometown and was instantly smitten with her, so when she won our draw later than day for a free engagement session I was pretty excited.
We shot their session at the farm of their family friend where they will be getting married this coming summer. It is such a fantastic place and the moment I got there my head filled so many ideas for their photos – in other words, I was a very happy photographer!
Aaron proposed to Brittany when bringing in the shopping on a winter day. He fell to the floor and proposed right then and there. The two of them are just the cutest people I have ever met and the love they have for each other is so clear and easy to see. It was such a joy to capture.
