There are some wedding days that we just don’t want to end, whether because of the couple, their wedding party, family + friends, or just the beauty of the venue. For Jessica-Lynn + Colin’s wedding we wanted to stay for all of these reasons!
In fact, I was having such a fun time doing their wedding party shots at the Williamstown Fairgrounds that I completely lost track of time. Luckily, Dave had my back and was watching the clock closely enough to keep up on schedule. But seriously, how could I not lose track of time?! This truly wonderful couple had gathered some of the very best people to stand with them on their wedding day, and getting to work with all of them in this gorgeous setting on what was one of the best weather days in October was absolute heaven!!
But before we got to all of that, their wonderful day started as most of our weddings do, covering prep for both bride and groom. Jessica-Lynn’s prep started with me getting to play with her absolutely stunning Vera Wang dress. It was gorgeous and felt so incredible, and more than, it was absolutely perfect for this wonderful bride! Add a little bling in the form of a sash and you have one of my favourite dresses of the 2016 season.
Meanwhile, Dave got to hang out with a super fun group of guys during Colin’s prep. I already knew that this couple was such a good fit for us, but during the prep the groomsmen learned it too. You see, Dave and I often text each other during the preps to make sure there are no changes on either end and just to generally keep each other in the loop. And at this point of the day we still have our ringers on (as we have learned that turning them off just ends up in us not answering and inevitably getting frustrated with each other), so while I was texting Dave’s phone kept making noises from one of his favourite video games. At one point one of the groomsmen recognized the sound and yelled out to Colin that he had found the perfect photographer!
Once everyone was ready for the day, Jessica-Lynn + Colin said I do during a beautiful ceremony in their church. They were accompanied by a wonderful guitarist (I love live music during wedding ceremonies) and of course their entire group of family + friends were there to witness it all.
After that super fun trip out to the Fairgrounds I spoke of earlier, it was time for their reception at the Ramada Inn in Cornwall. Not only was this a lovely venue for their wedding, it also happened to be a past workplace of Colin’s (it is always so nice when couples have a real connection with their venues). And we once again found ourselves not wanting to leave. The combination of touching speeches, delightful conversations and delicious food made us stick around for a little longer than usual. And of course, the chance to get to capture more of Jessica-Lynn + Colin’s day was definitely a draw as well.
I really can’t think of a better couple to have ended our double-header weekend with than Jessica-Lynn + Colin. These two are not only a great couple, but their sweet, down-to-earth personalities (and attention to detail during their planning stage) really meshed so wonderfully with our style. It was a real honour to be able to capture their wedding day and to share it here with all of you.
