If you check out our posts on a regular basis you will know that we love supporting Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario and have been fortunate enough to cover several of their events and granted wishes over the last (almost) 2 years. We love each and every one of of their events so much, but the 3 Wishes Gala definitely holds a special place on our calendar each year.
It is so much fun getting to see all of the employees, volunteers and generous supporters of the charity get all dolled up to come to this fun event, especially with this year’s Masquerade Ball theme! And what is an even bigger treat is to get to see all the wonderful wish kids and their families getting to really enjoy themselves.
The event was once again held at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre and it was completely decked out by some truly amazing local sponsors. I am always blown away by the creativity and dedication these teams put into making this event so beautiful!
But of course, the real stars of the evening are the kids, and this is highlighted by the touching (and often tear-inducing) stories about the Wish Kids and topped off with the granting of 3 wishes throughout the evening. Watching wishes be granted is always special and getting to see it done amidst all the glamour of the gala is even better!
These kids embody the traits of this charity, Hope Strength and Joy, so much that it is really hard to put into words. They are truly amazing and getting to spend time with them and get to know a few of them over the years has been such an honour.
