Event Photography at the Shaw Centre: Make-A-Wish Wine for Wishes 2019

Not only is it a great night filled with some of the very best food and drink vendors in the area, and not only does it support a cause that we believe it so very much, but it also is the marker for our work with this wonderful charity. Wine for Wishes was the very first event we covered for Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario over 5 years ago and it therefore acts as a sort of anniversary for Dave and I. We love our work with Make-A-Wish so very much and each and every event truly is such an incredibly rewarding experience. And of course, this year’s Wine for Wishes was not only rewarding, but so much fun!!

Event Photography at the Brookstreet Hotel: Make-A-Wish Taste of the Holidays Gala

These truly amazing people have the biggest hearts and work so hard to make lives brighter for children with critical illnesses by granting them truly life-changing wishes. Working with them is always such an honour and something that both Dave and I look forward to each and every time.

Each year we capture a few of their annual events, including their end of the year Gala. It is an ever-changing event that is definitely something we are excited to be a part of. This year’s event took the theme of the Holidays and created a smorgasbord of deliciousness for guests though the Taste of the Holidays event.

Ottawa Event Photography: Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope 2018

Make-A-Wish-Rope-for-Hope-2018-Stephanie-Beach-Photography-charity-event-ottawa-brookstreet-hotel-over-the-edgeDave and I really do love all of the Make-A-Wish events we get to be a part of, but I think, without a doubt, our favourite one each and every year is Rope for Hope. Not only is it just such a neat event raising money and awareness for a fantastic cause, but it is so truly awesome to be able to watch so many people conquer their fear of heights! That may be a surprising sentence, but I am always surprised by how many of the participants are there not only to support the charity, but also to overcome their fear of heights by rappelling down the side of a building. As somehow who semi-recently discovered that they are afraid of heights (thanks to a trip to St. Paul’s Cathedral back in 2008), I definitely applaud all of the participants, by particularly those who conquered their fears to be part of this super fun event!

Event Photography at the Chateau Laurier: Royal-Tea for the Royal Wedding

After very slowly packing the car, we headed out to Zoe’s Lounge at Chateau Laurier (at least there was practically no traffic!) to join the amazing Make-A-Wish team as they hosted their Royal-Tea event. Complete with scones, clotted cream and of course tea, we joined the guests in watching the Royal Wedding of Harry and Megan.

Event Photography at the Canada Science and Technology Museum: Imagine – A Mother & Son Ball

The Father and Daughter Ball is a wonderful tradition here in Ottawa that has been around for a number of years now. But the area was definitely missing the other half of the equation – there really wasn’t a Mother & Son Ball, until now that is!

The Imagine Mother & Son Ball was complete with fun activities throughout the Canada Science and Technology Museum, great visits from some pretty special guests, a photo booth, great food (plus candy!) and of course dancing too! And it was truly a huge hit with everyone and if that wasn’t enough, it was all in support of one of our absolute favourite charities, Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario!
