It was 3am when our alarm clock went off that morning and Dave and I crawled out of bed to start getting ready. After very slowly packing the car, we headed out to Zoe’s Lounge at Chateau Laurier (at least there was practically no traffic!) to join the amazing Make-A-Wish team as they hosted their Royal-Tea event. Complete with scones, clotted cream and of course tea, we joined the guests in watching the Royal Wedding of Harry and Megan.
The wedding was almost two weeks ago and I am still absolutely smitten with everything about it! It was an absolutely gorgeous affair but more than any of the decor or that beautiful dress, what I loved most about the whole thing was how these two seemingly wonderful people looked at each other with such love and devotion throughout the whole event. It’s a look we see very often in our own couples as they go through their wedding day, and it really was a joy to see it on the faces of these two famous people, it really brought things into perspective and reminded everyone that they are in fact real people in love.
But even better than watching the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex getting married, was getting to watch the oh so adorable Princess Nour get told that her wish was getting granted! The look on her face when she heard she was going to Disney to meet her favourite Disney Princesses was pretty much the best thing ever! She and her family were then treated to a horse-drawn carriage ride around downtown Ottawa by the team at Red Gate Livery and Nour got to practice her Princess wave for everyone!
We are always so honoured to be a part of Make-A-Wish events, and the best part of any of their events really is getting to meet the children and watch them be surprised by their wish reveals.
Thanks again to the entire team of Zoe’s Lounge and Chateau Laurier, Red Gate Livery, Mill Street Florist (who provided the elegant centrepieces), and of course everyone who came out and supported Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario.
