The off-season in the wedding industry is a time to get caught up on all the behind the scenes tasks that are required to run a business like paperwork, taxes, website updates, etc. But it is also the time when vendors get to collaborate together and have a little fun!
And that’s exactly what this styled shoot at Code’s Mill on the Park was all about – a great time with some truly awesome (and highly talented) people! And of course, getting to spend the day playing with all those pretty things was a million times better than having to deal with taxes!!
The day started at Ever After Bridal Boutique in Perth where I got to play with the prettiest of dresses and some truly gorgeous jewelry and hair accessories from Jewel Feathers! Add in my detail bag of tricks and a couple delicious chocolates from Perth Chocolate Works and I was in detail heaven!! Special shout out to Wooden Wedding Creations who made that custom bride hanger (keep an eye out for this puppy as it is part of my detail bag now and I am pretty certain it will be making an appearance throughout our weddings this year!!)
And of course, while I fiddled with all the pretties (and yummies) I found, the wonderful ladies from SD Beauty and Bombshell Hair Design got to work on the hair and make-up for our stunning models. Of course our models were already naturally beautiful, but Shannon and Alison did such a marvelous job highlighting that and giving Nicole and Katie gorgeous bridal looks for the shoot (extra special bonus points definitely go out to Nicole and Katie for not only rocking this shoot and every pose I threw their way, but for being super fun to work with too!).
Can we just stop and talk about the light at Code’s Mill on the Park? I mean, there is some sort of magic going on there with all the natural light flooding the arboretum space on the ground floor and pouring through the windows in the event space upstairs! I was already looking forward to being able to shoot a wedding there next year, but after this shoot I am so freaking excited to work there again!!
This vibrant bouquet was all thanks to the incredibly talented team at Kelly’s Flowers. We have had the pleasure of working with Krista and her team on several occasions, and they always create floral works of art that are so much fun to capture. Literally every time I see their name on the vendor list a bride sends over I am instantly made happy because I know something great is going to pop up in front of our cameras!
I really had such a wonderfully fun day with these ladies and can’t wait to work with them all again (ideally as soon as possible)! And of course, a HUGE thanks goes out to all the vendors who took part in this amazing styled shoot, you should definitely take the time to check them all out!
