Make-A-Wish’s Wine for Wishes event is an extra special event for us. Not only is it a great night filled with some of the very best food and drink vendors in the area, and not only does it support a cause that we believe it so very much, but it also is the marker for our work with this wonderful charity. Wine for Wishes was the very first event we covered for Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario over 5 years ago and it therefore acts as a sort of anniversary for Dave and I. We love our work with Make-A-Wish so very much and each and every event truly is such an incredibly rewarding experience. And of course, this year’s Wine for Wishes was not only rewarding, but so much fun!!
As I have said in years past, if you’ve never attended Wine for Wishes, you really are missing out. The event boasts some of the very best local wineries, breweries and of course restaurants all rolled into one super fun evening and, in my opinion, it has yet to fall short of that claim. It really is a fantastic evening for everyone involved (as even the vendors and sponsors have a great time). And from our perspective, this night just gets better and better each and every year – which is a pretty amazing feat on its own since it was pretty great the first year we covered it back in 2014!
This year’s event was even more awesome for us as we got to bring along our Photo Booth on top of our regular coverage. And boy-oh-boy, did the guests ever love it! Poor Dave didn’t get a single second of a break from the time they opened the doors until the end of the event. In fact, the venue coordinator had to come along and shut us down as the guests were lining up after the event was officially over! It was a huge hit!
This event really would be nothing without the extremely hard work of the Make-A-Wish team and volunteers and, of course, all of the fantastic vendors and sponsors. Definitely check out the event page here to see the list of all the companies who helped make this year’s event possible (and also to take a glance at the vendors who took part – just in case you need a refresher of the names after partaking in all those refreshments).
