Sometimes I struggle with what to write about in these blog posts. It can often be hard to think of things to say that I haven’t already included in a post, or where to draw the line in terms of what stays personal and what goes public. But for Devin + Brad, the hard part about this post is figuring out where to start as there were just so many amazing moments (and photos) throughout their entire wedding day!

We are pretty lucky in that we get to capture wedding days for couples who are madly in love with one another. Pretty much every wedding day includes me adoring how they smile when they catch each others eye or how they make each other laugh with the slightest of ease. But Lisa + Joe’s wedding day seemed extra special for some reason, and honestly I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until it came time for the ring exchange during their ceremony.
Three years ago we were walking out of the Chateau Laurier after finishing our coverage of an absolutely lovely wedding day. We had just finished taking a few night photos around the hotel and we were walking back through the main hall to get to our car. This is when we were stopped by a gentleman asking if we were photographers and if we could take a photo of him and his date. They were such a lovely couple and we hadn’t actually completely put away our gear yet, so of course we said yes. I sent over the images to him a little while later and that was that.
So, like pretty much any wedding industry team, Dave and I have some favourite venues throughout the area, and Jabulani Vineyard is definitely on that list! There is just something about the venue’s scenery and photo-op locations that fits our style and approach so nicely. Add in a super team of people who run everything and you really do have a great venue! But what’s even better than all of that are the the types of couples they attract – so kind and thoughtful and just plain wonderful to work with! Teresa + Stephane fit that description to a T, and it was such an honour to be able to capture their gorgeous wedding day for them.
Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love a good romantic comedy. Even though they all have pretty much the exact same plot, and you know exactly who is going to end up together, I could still watch them over and over again!
