If you watch our social media feeds and/or read our blog regularly than you will have probably noticed that we photograph a lot of weddings at Temple’s Sugar Bush. We are there 6 or 7 times a year and I honestly love that we visit this wonderful venue (and all of the truly amazing staff) so often. But the time always comes each year where we are photographing our last wedding there and although this year that was Megan + Brendan’s wedding day. And although we are said that we won’t be shooting on their grounds until next year, Megan + Brendan were such a fantastic way to end off our 2019 Temple’s weddings.

For us, the day we chose to get married was actually based on availability of a few of our preferred vendors and not for the date itself. And even though I joke that it was chosen because it is 6-months from my birthday (and I therefore get a present every 6-months), it truly was just a day in September that fit our criteria. That being said, it is now a very special date for us and the fact that we now share it with two people as truly wonderful as Leandra + Lucas is pretty darn awesome!

When I captured Sarah + Kelvin’s engagement session last winter I learned just how amazing they are in front of the camera, and although I didn’t really forgot that fact, I was very quickly reminded of just how fantastic they really are as soon as we had the two of them together again and in front of our lenses! Seriously guys, they are complete naturals! Such genuine emotion and adorableness I honestly just couldn’t get enough of it! I could have shot these two all day long! And that feeling was only compounded when I met the rest of their wedding party as these guys were just a ton of fun and made every second of this already wonderful day that much more awesome!

Can we talk about speeches for just a second? So there have been many times during my career as a wedding photographer where I have felt the pains of a long, drawn-out, boring speech. Or seen a fellow shy person struggle through a speech they really didn’t feel comfortable making. But the speeches at Brittany + Mike’s wedding were none of these things and instead they were utterly brilliant and so ridiculously funny! Every venue has house rules that get read by the MC before the night really begins, and although I have heard some entertaining versions before, never before have they actually been side-splitting funny!
