When I captured Sarah + Kelvin’s engagement session last winter I learned just how amazing they are in front of the camera, and although I didn’t really forgot that fact, I was very quickly reminded of just how fantastic they really are as soon as we had the two of them together again and in front of our lenses! Seriously guys, they are complete naturals! Such genuine emotion and adorableness I honestly just couldn’t get enough of it! I could have shot these two all day long! And that feeling was only compounded when I met the rest of their wedding party as these guys were just a ton of fun and made every second of this already wonderful day that much more awesome!
Our day kicked off waiting around in the parking lot as although the guys were on time for meeting us, Sarah and her ladies were a little delayed. It ended up working out pretty nicely actually as another industry pro was officiating a small, private ceremony in the park that day and needed a witness for the documentation, and since Dave was in eyeshot he was called over and lent a hand (or rather signature).
Anyway, back to the wedding we were actually capturing that day – Sarah + Kelvin had the cutest first look followed by portraits in Andrew Haydon Park, which, as a side note, is quickly becoming one of my favourite park portrait locations in the city thanks to all of its original features like the waterfall, bandshell, little bridges and of course the water being right there too. But what actually ended up being a highlight for their portraits was a new addition to what I like about the park – the playground. The wedding party had a blast running around the ship-themed playground, especially the guys, and we loved photographing all the shenanigans!
But in all honesty, there was a single moment of Sarah + Kelvin’s day that I didn’t enjoy being a part of! Their portraits beforehand were a blast, their ceremony was sweet and touching, their reception was full of truly hilarious moments and that sunset – we need to talk about that sunset for a moment!! It was truly beyond words! We had the perfect location for it and Sarah + Kelvin absolutely killed it with their natural posing and twirls – that’s right guys, perfect bridal twirling on a pier at sunset!!! I was in complete heaven and just could not stop taking photos, which of course has resulted in me delivering an absurd number of sunset photos (possibly the most from any wedding), although that isn’t really a bad thing, haha!
I am so excited to share these photos with everyone and even more so for this loving couple to get their hands on them. Thanks again for having us be part of your wedding day Sarah + Kelvin!
