Wow! Wow! Wow!
That pretty much sums up how I feel about Kirsten + Kyle‘s wedding day! Literally everything was utter perfection. I had been looking forward to this day since I first met this amazing couple and it was even better than what I had imagined!!
The weather was perfect (in my opinion) and the venue was of course stunning as the Stonefields Chapel is a photographers dream with all that wonderful, natural light!! Kirsten + Kyle had infused the day with their travel and flight theme so wonderfully. It was a present theme, with being overdone, and guests quickly picked it up through the couple’s signing ‘book’ plane propeller, Pilot and Co-Pilot chair signs, and of course the lovely stationary they had designed. They had even added some vintage suitcases from Kirsten’s grandmother to their decor (and photos too!). I think my favourite theme elements though were the personal photos they had as part of their table centrepieces that showed the couple on some of their favourite trips (with the table ‘numbers’ being the city those photos were taken in of course).
But as is pretty much always the case, it wasn’t the venue or decor that made this day so perfect – it was the people. I know it is so corny to say that, but it really is true! Not only were Kirsten + Kyle a dream to work with, but their friends + family were an absolute delight. The wedding party kept us laughing all day long and did an absolutely marvelous job in front of the camera too! They had a bunch of little people included in their wedding day and they were all so wonderfully behaved the entire day (even after being told they were done with photos but then dragged into one more). Dave + I were even sat at what was easily the best table as the couples we were with were so fun (so much so that I just wanted to sit and chat with them rather than get up and, you know, do my job, haha!).
Kirsten + Kyle opted for a traditional timeline were they didn’t see each other before the ceremony. But they still did this with a special little twist. We set them up around the corner of one of the adorable buildings at Stonefields and they held hands and shared the cards they had written for one another. It was a really sweet moment that I am so glad they wanted to include in their wedding day.
And of course by now, you all know how much I love a super long veil, so I was obviously head over heels in love with the one Kirsten pulled out during prep!! That beauty flew and swooped so magically – add in the fact that the couple pulled off the perfect dip during their veil toss photos and I just about fell over with delight!
Seriously, this wedding was gorgeous both in the visual aspects and the heartfelt ones and I am pretty darn certain it will be in the website highlight reel for a long time to come!! Thank you both so much Kirsten + Kyle for including us in your day and letting us capture all these moments for you!
