I often get asked by couples planning their engagement session, ‘what happens if it rains?’. And I pretty much always answer with the fact that it is really up to them. Most couples choose to reschedule their session for another day, others like to roll the dice and see if the forecast is wrong, or if there will be a big enough break in the cloud to squeeze their session in. And some like to just roll with the punches and let their session be rainy.
When the forecast turned gloomy before Melanie + Michael’s engagement session, they chose to reschedule their date. So we bumped it a little bit and of course, when we showed up at Watson’s Mill for the new date, the skies were looking pretty dark, ominous, and wet!
I often get asked by clients when we are planning their winter engagement session, how much snow is too much? And the answer is that there isn’t a limit. Jolani + Josh’s session is a great example as Mother Nature can be even weirder than usual when it comes to winter forecasts.
I have this list of location ideas. It has some classics, some spots I absolutely adore, and some hidden gems I have found. It also includes a bunch of locations that I really want to shoot at – Watson’s Mill has been on that list for a while now. I have offered it to a few couples, but apparently it hasn’t quite resonated with anyone. That is until Shannon + Erin came on the scene. In fact, I didn’t even have to suggest it to them as it was their preferred location from the get-go, and I couldn’t have been happier!
