I used to do surveys in different buildings around the city of Ottawa. Okay, so I didn’t do field work very often, but when I did, it was building surveys. I love it when I get to collaborate on session location ideas with couples. It tends to start with an idea or request they have and then grow from there into something that fits them as a couple, and will look great when captured on camera.
After he has proposed, and after she had said yes, Helen + Yale joined me for an absolutely delightful engagement session. One of the first stops was actually behind the Parliament buildings, overlooking the city. And as I stood there I could pretty much see the spot further up the river where Dave had proposed to me not so long ago. I realized that I had just captured their proposal in such close proximity to where my own had taken place, and that made this special day even more memorable.
Ottawa photographers really are such a lucky bunch as there are so many wonderful locations in and around this city. We are even luckier when it comes to our downtown core, as unlike most city centres, our is full of great urban scenes with an abundance of nature mixed in. So when Rebecca + Keith wanted an engagement session with both an urban and rural feel, there were definitely no issues accommodating.
