I know I already wrote a Thank You post to everyone who made 2016 so freaking amazing for us, but I wanted to keep my annual tradition of highlighting the most trafficked blog posts by starting the new year with yet another tribute to 2016. Bear with me.
As 2015 wrapped up I was busy writing out my business goals for 2016. In short, I wanted to greatly advance my business. I wanted to shoot more wedding, portrait and events, and I wanted to greatly improve my online presence. Those were the main goals.
But more than anything else, I wanted to have fun – and we definitely did!
We got to work with some of the truly best people in the area and capture some absolutely beautiful wedding days (and couples!). I am so incredibly grateful and without further adieu, I present to you the Top Posts of 2016…
Kristen + Todd’s wedding day was one of our many Temple’s weddings this year and it was a really great one at that. Their day was not only beautifully designed, but full of people who were beautiful inside and out, which always makes our job a little easier. These two were so relaxed and easy-going all day long and working with them was such a pleasure. (Extra fun fact: you just might find Kristen + Todd’s wedding day on the pages of a magazine in your local grocery/book store…)
4. Karen + Jay
I was so happy to see that Karen + Jay made out top posts for the year. These two are so beyond words amazing and getting to capture their wedding for them was a true honour. Every moment during their wedding day was thought out perfectly and the lengths that their family and friends went to to help them have a truly memorable day further proved how awesome these two are.
3. Lisa + Joe
I mentioned in our Thank You post that getting to capture the wedding of two people who we have a family history with was a real treat, but what made their day truly memorable for us was this adorable couple and all the care and attention they had put into their day to make sure it was fun for not only them, but all of their family and friends who helped them celebrate their wedding. Their wedding was absolutely gorgeous and we still get comments about it from inquiring couples, and I have a tendency to use that bouquet shot as often as I can because I just love it so much!
To be honest, I am surprised to see this one not only on the list, but at #2. That is only because Christiane + Adam’s wedding day was only at the beginning of November so they didn’t have the same length of time that some of the others featured here did to bring in the views. Their day was intimate and oh so lovely. It was full of gorgeous details and unique elements that we really loved being able to capture. But more than any of that, we loved being around these two amazing people and their fantastic circle of friends and family.
1. Erica + Ryan
As yes, the wedding that started this entire year for us. Erica + Ryan’s winter wedding honestly couldn’t have been more picturesque and we couldn’t have had a better time capturing it all for them. These two made the Top Post of 2015 with their gorgeous engagement session and I am so happy to see them continue the trend with their wedding day.
Two Runner-ups:
Marie-France + Jonathan’s wedding day was beautiful and full of so much love for this amazing couple. They truly are two of the nicest people we have gotten to work with without a doubt. And two that we are also super excited about working with again this year as they grow their family.
Kate + Steve’s day was ridiculously stunning! In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that shots from their day will be fueling my social media and promotional material quite regularly for at least the next year. But, in all honesty, the real highlights of this day were the people. Not only the bride and groom, who were so lovely to work with and did such a fantastic job in front of our camera, but their entire wedding party (who were a freaking blast to spend time with), and their family + friends (who really knew how to give fantastic speeches and have a good time).
Our 2016 season completely blew me away with how great it was. It really was beyond my wildest dreams and I am so thankful for it all. I can’t wait to see what 2017 holds for us as it is already looking like it is going to be pretty great. *Fingers crossed* that it is as good as 2016 was to us.
Also, quick shout out to my bestie who didn’t quite make the top posts of the year, but whose wedding was without a doubt, my highlight of the year. We love you!
