Every so often we get the pleasure of working with some of the greatest people this city has to offer as we cover Make-A-Wish events and wishes. And we get to spend the day learning about some truly amazing kids too.
This time around we were capturing the Rope for Hope event held at the Marriot Hotel on Coventry as team members rappelled down the side in support of this wonderful charity. The day may not have been as bright and sunny as last year (although I did still manage to get a sunburn), and parts of it were definitely on the chilly side for June, but it was still an absolutely wonderful day!
After covering Rope for Hope for the first time last year, I quickly learned that this is Dave’s favourite Make-A-Wish event, and I therefore got in touch with them before the weekend booked up to ensure we could be available for it again this year.
I think it is his favourite because not only does he get to rappel down the building himself, but he also gets to spend the day on the roof capturing that moment when the rappellers first step onto the edge of the roof and sit into their harness, and hopefully helps coax them into really trusting the safety system (and all of the wonderful people at Over the Edge who make sure that it’s in tip-top shape), to raise their arms out and get a great shot!
As always, the employees at Make-A-Wish as well as all of their wonderful volunteers were absolutely fantastic to work with all day long! , And of course a big thanks goes out to all those super brave rappellers and the absolutely amazing Wish Kids themselves. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day successful and for everyone who supported this deserving charity through this event.
Special thanks to all of the great companies and people who sponsored this event:
