I have a particular fondness for the NCC Greenbelt trails (I specifically love the ones that surround the Stony Swamp area). Not only are they beautiful, but also because they remind me of several trails and forest areas that I frequented when I was growing up back home.
I found myself on these trails so often that for a long time, I had a bag of bird seed in my car at all times, and now my camera bag is often home to a small pack of it (so much so that there is almost always a few loose seeds at the bottom of my bag).
Sadly, I don’t find myself out on the trails as often as I used to, but since that time is taken up by clients and their sessions, I am definitely not complaining. But I do love when my work gets to overlap with my time spent on the greenbelt trails, so when Christine + John mentioned that they were interested in the Jack Pine Trail for their session, I was very happy.
We walked around the paths and got to enjoy it all in one of my absolute favourite states – during the peak of Fall! And even though it was a little bit of a gray day, the surroundings were still gorgeous and Christine + John did an absolutely wonderful job with their photos. And although the chipmunks weren’t quite up for being hand-fed (I feel like the ones we saw were still far too young to trust the large creatures offering them food), the birds were definitely eager to take advantage of the easy-access food.
I absolutely love how Christine + John are able to make each other smile and laugh with ease and how natural they were in front of the camera! I am super excited to work with them as they plan their wedding day next year, as I just know it is going to be a fabulous day with the perfect relaxed atmosphere!
