From the moment I stepped into the suite to start Dana’s bridal prep, I was overhearing the per cent chance of rain at various times in the day (primarily focusing on the ceremony). Dana would call out to her sister and she would refresh the page on her phone and then call out the updates.
Now, whenever the forecast calls for rain on a wedding day, or in the case of Dana + Matt’s day, when it is already absolutely pouring outside, you pretty much always hear the phrase it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day. There are so many supposed reasons as to why this is (most having to do with fertility and the like), but I always tell brides that it is because they are tying the knot and a wet knot is much harder to untie.
And although the phrase was definitely said to Dana, and I definitely followed it up with my sort-of logical reason, Dana didn’t seem too phased by the rain – nor did Matt for that matter. And it seems that in the end, they were both right now to be too bothered by it as the skies cleared up just in time for the seats to be wiped down (special shout out to the always fantastic team at Temple’s) and for all the outdoor events to go as planned.
The day turned out beautifully. Despite the extra 10 degrees of humidity we had throughout the afternoon, the entire wedding party was absolutely wonderful to work with and Dana + Matt were complete knockouts!! Each and every time they caught each other’s eye, they smiled from ear-to-ear and not only was it clear to see how much the loved one another, but it was just plain adorable to watch!
A special thanks and shout out to all the vendors who helped make this day awesome:
