Winter weddings can be a little tricky. Of course it is cold and we need to adjust how we work outside to make sure no one gets frostbite, but there is also that pesky sun. The shorter days and earlier sunsets mean we end up with less daylight for outdoor photos, and if you aren’t super keen on having a first look (which is always our first suggestion on how to work with the shorter days), it can be a little tricky to get everything captured in the best lighting. But worry not because there are always solutions and we can work pretty darn quickly when we need to and that is exactly what we did for Alexis + Peter’s winter wedding! Stewart Park & Code’s Mill Wedding: Michelle + Colin
Wow, somehow it is only June and yet Dave and I have already captured some truly gorgeous weddings of some of the very best people ever!! Every year we get luckier and luckier with the couples we have as they really are just the bestest ever and I am so eternally grateful that we get to work with them all! And of course Michelle + Colin were no exception. Not only are they super adorable and all around gorgeous people, but they are sweet, thoughtful and funny! I loved basically everything about their wedding day!

Temple’s Sugar Bush Wedding: Dana + Matthew
From the moment I stepped into the suite to start Dana’s bridal prep, I was overhearing the per cent chance of rain at various times in the day (primarily focusing on the ceremony). Dana would call out to her sister and she would refresh the page on her phone and then call out the updates.
Now, whenever the forecast calls for rain on a wedding day, or in the case of Dana + Matt’s day, when it is already absolutely pouring outside, you pretty much always hear the phrase it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day. There are so many supposed reasons as to why this is (most having to do with fertility and the like), but I always tell brides that it is because they are tying the knot and a wet knot is much harder to untie.

We really do get to work with the best couples. Sweet and funny, and of course, so very much in love – it is a breeze to photograph their wedding days! But what makes them ridiculously fun is when their wedding party is a blast too and Katlyn + Steve’s group was truly awesome!
