Wow, somehow it is only June and yet Dave and I have already captured some truly gorgeous weddings of some of the very best people ever!! Every year we get luckier and luckier with the couples we have as they really are just the bestest ever and I am so eternally grateful that we get to work with them all! And of course Michelle + Colin were no exception. Not only are they super adorable and all around gorgeous people, but they are sweet, thoughtful and funny! I loved basically everything about their wedding day!
Michelle emailed me when we were putting together the timeline to let me know that their wedding day was also a prom day for at least one of the nearby high schools and as such, the town of Perth had warned her that there would likely be a lot of students and their families at the park (it is a really popular destination for prom photos). I assured our lovely bride that we would definitely be able to work around them, and although that is completely true and the students and their families were actually very respectful, it was so comforting to see that the city had sent a bylaw officer to make sure that the wedding ceremony was undisturbed by all the extra people in the park that day. Just one less thing for our couple to have to worry about – because no one needs extra worries (or really any worries) on their wedding day.
And I was even more impressed by how incredibly on time everything was throughout the entire day! If the schedule said something was to happen at 1:20, it happened at 1:20, and everyone was ready to go before that time even! As a Type A person who loves schedules, lists and plans, I was so happy with how efficient and on-track everyone and everything was all day long! And of course, anyone in the wedding industry knows just how rare this is on wedding days as there are oh so many things that can get a couple minutes behind, and all those couple of minutes add up to many minutes. But that wasn’t the case with Michelle + Colin!
But as is often the case with our couples, the thing that made this entire day so magical was the couple, their wedding party, and their friend & family. Everyone was so sweet, caring and considerate. The wedding party was an absolute hoot and both Dave and I loved getting to hang out with them throughout the day. And for two people who look so quiet and conservative at first glance, these two know how to party! The dancing at the end of the evening was phenomenal! And it didn’t matter what style of music it was either, folk, 90’s hits, classic rock, even polka – there was always someone who had magnificent moves to go along with the tunes!
Thanks to all of these amazing vendors who helped make this wedding possible!
