Intimate Wedding in Andrew Haydon Park: Annie + Chris

I seem to have just the worst luck when it comes to weddings at Andrew Haydon Park. And just so we’re clear, by that I mean the worst luck with the weather at weddings here. I have shot many here now and literally all but one have endured a rather wet, rainy day. And even the one that didn’t get rain, got an intense heat wave (to the degree that people were started to feel ill despite the copious amounts of water we had around).

But despite the less than ideal weather conditions, Annie + Chris didn’t let it get them down for too long as they definitely made the most of the day and our time together!

Wakefield Le Belvedere Wedding: Shalane + Riley

During the peak wedding season, our family and friends often ask about our schedule. Rather than telling them what days we are booked, I tend to tell them the one or two weekend dates we have open for the months of September and October. But this year, after telling them all that, I also had to add in the random Tuesday we had booked for a wedding as it meant we were taking time off around that day.

Now Tuesday may seem like a really weird day for a wedding, but honestly, Shalane + Riley’s mid-week wedding was rather perfect!

Ottawa Intimate Backyard Wedding: Julie + Shenfield

If I’m being honest, I wasn’t feeling great heading to Julie + Shenfield’s wedding (don’t worry it wasn’t anything I could pass along). So much so in fact, that I brought Dave along even though he wasn’t booked for the wedding coverage. He came as backup to help carry my gear and in case I couldn’t shoot to my normal quality. Fortunately he wasn’t needed for anything other than being a pack mule, but I of course took advantage of him being there when it came to veil tosses, multi-tasking shots, and those wonderful candid images. I mean, why wouldn’t I, he was there and he is so darn good at it!

Temple’s Sugar Bush Wedding: Leandra + Lucas

Temples-Country-Weddings-Stephanie-Beach-PhotographyFor us, the day we chose to get married was actually based on availability of a few of our preferred vendors and not for the date itself. And even though I joke that it was chosen because it is 6-months from my birthday (and I therefore get a present every 6-months), it truly was just a day in September that fit our criteria. That being said, it is now a very special date for us and the fact that we now share it with two people as truly wonderful as Leandra + Lucas is pretty darn awesome!

Orchard View Wedding: Casandra + Alex

Orchard-View-Wedding-Ottawa-Stephanie-Beach-PhotographyWe have had many couples who ended up getting married after meeting online, but I think Casandra + Alex may be the first who specifically met while playing video games online. So with that in mind, and the fact that the are active gamers to this day (and went to school in the industry), it makes perfect sense that their wedding day was themed around their favourite past time.
