Katherine: ‘Can we do a shot in the field? I have always wanted a photo of me and my love running through the field.’
Me: ‘umm…yeah we definitely can!!!!!!’
I absolutely loved when Katherine asked me for this series of photo during her and Mike’s engagement session, she has such great ideas that I loved incorporating into their photos!
I also absolutely loved the details she had gathered and made to include in their session. And even though the Save the Date sign she had made was so wonderfully glittery, and a bouquet of sunflowers is a great addition to literally any session, I think my favourite detail had to be that monogrammed Mrs. Box. I have my own collection of Mrs. Boxes that I bring along to weddings, but seeing as how they have to fit any of my weddings, I can’t go with any of the personal touches in terms of lettering – so it was so fantastic to get to work with those extra special touches!
But as always, the couple stole the show as Katherine + Mike were so much fun to work with. I had a great time strolling through one of my all-time favourite parks chatting up a storm with them. Both Mike and I spent time living in the nearby area over the years, in fact, the first place Dave and I ever lived together in was just a stone’s throw from this park. I spent quite a lot of time sitting in front of random trees in this park trying to lure chipmunks into posing for my camera so I could practice my skills – they were truly simpler days in terms of my photography.
I am so looking forward to hanging out with these two wonderful human beings again next year to celebrate their wedding day (and getting to add a second – and third – ring to that Mrs. Box)!
