So the Fall season, as gorgeous as it was, didn’t really get a good showing this year. We had some truly stunning colours, but they didn’t last long. Summer took forever to go away, and then Winter popped up in full force so early! As as sad as this all was for true Fall-lovers like myself, it meant that the start of Winter had some unique features to it – like big, Fall-coloured trees sitting among the piles of snow. It was definitely unique and I absolutely loved that some of stuck around long enough for Danielle + Trevor’s engagement session!
These two became absolute pros by the end of their session and were just naturally falling perfectly into place each and every time! Mix that with their delightful personalities, some great chats, and the beauty of downtown Ottawa, and we definitely had one of my favourite winter sessions!
Their session started out with the sweetest walk down memory lane as we shot at the Corktown Bridge (aka the Love Locks) where Trevor originally popped the question. We were even able to find their lock among all the others around! Then a short walk down past the NAC and we were at one of my favourite spots in the downtown area – the Rideau Street Bridge. I just love this spot! It’s likely the combination of light and architectural features that draw me back to this spot again and again – and really, can you blame me?! And really no downtown engagement session is complete without a quick stroll through Major’s Hill Park and a shot with Parliament and/or Chateau Laurier (added bonus – the construction cranes were out of the way).
It really was such a great walk around our lovely city with an even more lovely couple! I can’t wait to do it all again (in a different location of course) next year!
