I don’t remember exactly how long that first meeting was, but I know that it was definitely one of my longer consults and ever since I sat down for coffee with Hannah + Curtis I have been super excited for their wedding day! And as the big day got closer and closer, my excitement levels only went up and up! But honestly, even though I was super pumped to work at this venue and with all of the wonderful vendors these two had chosen to be part of their day, the thing I was most excited for was getting to capture these two amazingly kind souls.
Their engagement session was full of so many sweet moments and genuine laughs and I loved getting to try out a couple new things around the museum we ended up shooting in (and getting to work with a couple who would let me experiment with a few things). One of the things I loved the most when I first met Hannah + Curtis was one of the things that became even more evident when I got them in front of the camera that first time: the mutual and abundant love and respect for one another. And just in case I hadn’t already noticed it before the wedding day, their friends and family would have definitely let me know, as this was such an integral part of their relationship that the love and respect they have for one another came up multiple times throughout the day whether it be in speeches or just random conversations around the room.
There were so many wonderful elements and moments from their wedding day that I don’t know if I can pick just one favourite, but the Best Man speech was definitely up there as well as the many personal elements cleverly thrown in throughout the day (from an arbor made by hand for them to the trivia questions full of some of their favourite topics). Their wonderful sense of humour was also present as Hannah had left custom notes on many of the table numbers with little jokes and teases, and of course their own speeches were filled with their witty, intelligent personalities.
It was a truly memorable wedding day for all the right reasons and I was so completely honoured to have been a part of it and to have captured it all for Hannah + Curtis!
Also, big thanks to Marina for helping me out with those night shots. This was a solo wedding for me so I had to find a stand-in for Dave and Marina did an absolutely marvelous job!!
Thanks to all of these amazing vendors who helped make this wedding possible!
