When Chantal + Brendan asked if they could alter their engagement session for a part engagement part family session I of course said yes. We have done a few of these over the years and it is a great way to let your entire family be part of your engagement and just the photo session in general. But upon meeting Tessa and their pup Maya, I am so, so glad they wanted them to be included because not only is Maya such a good doggo, but Tessa is without a doubt the coolest ten year old I have ever met!
This was a fact that I relayed to Dave when I got home from the session and was actually able to prove to him when we ran into them at the Wedding Show this past weekend over at Temple’s Country Weddings. Dave, being a super cool person himself, of course pointed Tess in the direction of the very best sugary treats, while we caught up with the Bride + Groom to be. Each and every time I meet this family I am instantly reminded of the many, many reasons why I am so freaking excited to capture their wedding next year!
And I think this session shows a lot of those reasons:
– Tess is super cool, absolutely hilarious and is going to be a blast on the wedding day
– Chantal + Brendan are not only in love, but also have such an obvious respect for one another, which I believe is key to a healthy relationship
– They make each other laugh genuinely and frequently!
I had a giant smile plastered on my face the entire time I was editing their session and it was 100% because of that last point. Chantal + Brendan were making each other laugh all throughout the session and of course Tess was there to crack up everyone as well! Maya did her best, but I think adorableness is more her strong suit (and just strength in general as that puppers gave me a good workout when she wasn’t in front of the lens).
Seriously guys, if this session was a hint of what is to come, their wedding day is definitely going to be one to watch out for next Summer.
