Strathmere Lodge Wedding: Samantha + Damjan

Samantha + Damjan may just be the most awesome people ever! Not only are they drop dead gorgeous, but they are genuinely kind, thoughtful and loving too! Throw into all of that their two adorable children (who hijacked their ceremony) and all of their incredibly fun friends and family and this was definitely a wedding day we will never forget!!

During Sam + Damjan’s (side note: I have determined that their couple name should be Samjan) engagement session, I told them that they were going to be wedding number 100 for is. It was a true fact, at the time. Shortly after their engagement session, one of our other couples had to postpone their wedding day, which kind of changed the numbers for us. All of a sudden Sam + Damjan were number 99 instead. I was pretty bummed as I was really looking forward to their wedding day being such a milestone, plus they were so pumped about it too! But, as Dave realized while we were driving home, wedding #99 could still The Great One! See what he did there…clever right?!

And this wedding day was definitely great!! It was a little chilly, but the couple had thought of that and had blankets available for guests (and the wedding party) and I don’t think anyone really minded the cooler temperatures whatsoever because the day was filled to the brim with so much heartwarming love! I mean, when Sam + Damjan’s kids, Cadence + Ramsey became part of the wedding ceremony, it would have warmed the heart of even the toughest grinch. Especially when Cadence stole her mom’s wedding ring from the officiant and put it on her own finger instead, haha! There was no questioning at all which princess was the real star of the day!!

Their wedding ceremony was actually already pretty freaking awesome even before the kids got involved in the ring exchange. Instead of typical wedding readings, Samantha + Damjan had opted for truly epic ones in the form of rock music, including the loving words of Metallica. I literally can’t properly explain how much I loved hearing the fresh material. In fact, I can’t really put into words just how happy this wedding day made me and how delighted I was to relive it while I was editing their photos!!

Also, when your clients are super fit and healthy (they both work in the health and fitness industry), they can do wonderous things for their photos! Damjan held and carried Sam like she was a feather and I feel like he could have held her for days (and I definitely took advantage of that)! The two of them mixed with the perfectly glowy golden hour we had was utter perfection!!
