It had been 4 very, very long months since I had a newborn in the studio so I was a little nervous leading up to Little Maya’s session. But the instant I got her in my arms I was right back in the swing of things! And as an added bonus, Maya and her entire family were an absolute dream to work with!
They really were the perfect start back into studio sessions. Not only was Maya a real cutie patootie, but big brother Jacob was so good during his part of the photos, and a great helper too!
Siblings around that 2-3 age can be a little tricky from time to time when it comes to photos with their new little brother or sister, so I always have a few ideas for different poses and of course tricks to get them interested in the whole thing. But none of that was really needed during Maya’s session as Jacob was eager to be a part of it all and to get to hold his new little sister! It was so sweet to watch him carefully hold her and, I mean, that little smile of his – oh my goodness!
And talk about sweetness – Little Maya was so squishy and adorable! The way she held her hands up by her face was utter perfection. I really didn’t have to do much tweaking to her fingers at all as she really did love not only having her hands by her face, but also having her fingers stretched out nice and straight (rather than clenching them into adorable little fists). There honestly couldn’t have been a better baby, or better family, to kick off our studio sessions again!!
